“Emma,” by Focus Features, is based on Jane Austen’s beloved comedic books about finding your equal in life—as well as your happy ending. Anya Taylor-Joy portrays Emma Woodhouse. Emma Woodhouse is an attractive young woman that lives in a large mansion on the Hartford estate in North London. She loves to serve as a matchmaker for her friends and family. The director is Autumn de Wilde in her debut film.
Emma’s father, portrayed by Bill Nighy, is wonderful in his role as is the supporting cast. We view Emma and Harriet, (Mia Goth) as they navigate love and heartbreak. Both are fantastic in their roles. I especially enjoyed the beautiful cinematography of the English countryside.
If you are a Jane Austen fan, you are in for a big treat ogling this updated version.
Did you know the last “Emma” film in 1996 starred Gwyneth Paltrow?
