King Arthur: Legend of the Sword is Fantasy, Action & Adventure by British director Guy Ritchie of the Sherlock Holmes movies, he gives us an updated King Arthur film.
Charlie Hunnam stars as Arthur (The true King) he’s orphaned and grows up in back alleys, learning life’s hard knocks. He’s the only one that can pull the magical sword from the stone, and when he does his life changes forever. Robbed of his birthright and with no idea who he truly is, Arthur finds himself ‘squaring off’ with his evil uncle.
Jude Law is villain Vortigern Arthur’s Uncle. He Steals the crown after killing Arthur’s father, played by Eric Bana.
The Bottom-Line? I’m a fan of Guy Ritchie’s stop-action style, especially the humor in his films…but you won’t find much humor here. And the stop-action was way too much and over edited. What should have been edited is the length. 20 minutes is far too long.
I did like the performances of newcomer Charlie Hunnam and Jude Law.
