Apple TV+ revealed a first look at the second season of series “Platonic.” The critically acclaimed half-hour comedy starring and executive produced by the engaging duo of Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne. The 10-episode 2nd season will premiere globally on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, with the first two episodes, followed by one episode weekly until October 1, 2025.

Seth Rogen’s brilliant comedy TV series “Platonic” season 2 is now streaming on Apple TV+. The series revolves around two close college friends, Seth (Will) and Sylvia (Rose Byrne), who enjoy each other’s company and share their midlife challenges. Season 2 starts with Seth’s unsettling thoughts about his upcoming wedding. Rose simply listens and offers suggestions, although she’s concerned about her husband’s hurried decision to quit his job, a significant change in their lives.

This enjoyable series, filled with laughs, cringeworthy moments, and conflicts, highlights the complexity of close friendships. Now living in Los Angeles, they both decide to get to know each other’s partners as Rose is married to an attorney, Charlie (Luke Macfarlane), and is enjoying raising their three adorable children. She’s also challenged by her new business as an event planner and keeps up with her other best friend, Katie (Carla Gallo).
Will is still engaged to Jenna (Rachel Rosenbloom) and is living comfortably with her in San Diego, California. They both work at the company she runs as CEO. As expected, when things aren’t going well in each of their personal lives, Sylvia and Will turn to each other. What’s enjoyable is the undeniable chemistry between them, as they demonstrated in the film “Neighbors” (2014), that they are terrific together. Certainly, an infectious pair to watch as they are so very comfortable with each other as they joke, banter, and exchange wisecracks with their sharp comic timing.

Indeed, they are complementary talents. I’ve always been a Seth Rogen fan, because I enjoy his comedic nature and his hysterical, iconic laugh. I had the pleasure of meeting him in Hollywood while he was actually filming Season 1 at the W hotel, where we were staying. He is at the top of his game, as the laughs are non-stop. He’s found the perfect match with Rose Byrne, as her timing and sense of humor have been amplified by working with Seth. Both are truly believable in their roles, and you can’t help but root for each of them as they navigate their challenges.
