The Bear Season 3 (R)

Hi Carl and hello to all of our listeners out there, tonight I’m going to review the TV series “The Bear” Season 3 that’s rated R, and streaming on Hulu, there are ten episodes.

In ‘The Bear’ season 3, Jeremy Allan White stars as Carmy, an award-winning New York head Chef who returns to his hometown of Chicago to run his late brother’s failing restaurant, The Beef. In season three, Carmy and the cast continue with the new upscale restaurant named The Bear. The first episode is a visual feast, with beautifully shot food that’s almost too beautiful to eat. As a former food critic with the Chicago Tribune, I was in culinary heaven! Some may find it slow, but I savored every dish.

Episode 6, ‘Napkins’, is a standout among the 10 Episodes. It delves into the back-story of Liza Colón-Zayas’s character, Tina, the struggling line cook. Her unwavering loyalty to Mikey Berzatto, played by Jon Bernthal, is a central theme. We witness her journey from The Beef to culinary school, where she now serves as a sous chef. The portrayal of her story is so moving it brought me to tears. The introduction of her husband, David, played by her real-life husband, David Zayas, known for his work on the TV series ‘Dexter ‘, adds another layer of depth. Ayo Edebiri’s direction of this compelling narrative is truly commendable.

Episodes 7, ‘Legacy’ and 8, ‘Ice Chips, ‘ feature Sugar, played by Abby Elliott. Natalie ‘Sugar’ Berzatto focuses on the baby she’s been carrying, motherhood, and birth. It’s best not to give away any details of these two Episodes, as they’re much better left to unfold naturally. There’s so much to appreciate in Season 3, and I can’t help but express my personal enjoyment of it. I truly savored every moment of ‘The Bear’ season 3.

Here are a few fun photos of the cast as I sat at their table during an Awards show.
