The CFCA bestowed their annual awards last night after members socialized and dined at Zia’s restaurant in Chicago. The big winner of the evening was Mad Max: Fury Road, a sci-fi action film that is notable for it’s original story, great performances, directing, editing, creative art production/costuming and adrenaline-fueled action.

As a side note, this critic is thrilled with the outcome. My four-star review of Mad Max: Fury Road, which aired in June of this year, was filled with excitement as the bar has been raised several notches in the action genre. Going forward any film attempting to create an action film will indeed need to step up their game.
